You can find this north of Aux<\/h3>\n

Historic towns, palaces and castles. They all tell fascinating stories from the past of Bavarian Swabia and are a real treasure trove for all history enthusiasts. Harburg Palace, for example, is one of the largest, oldest and best-preserved castle complexes in southern Germany. Experience almost 900 years of history up close and discover the Baroque castle church and the magnificent ballroom, passing through arrow slits, prison cells and towers. For a fantastic view, it\u2019s best to climb the hill above the town of Harburg (Swabia). From here, you can see as far as the N\u00f6rdlinger Ries. Bavaria\u2019s most beautiful lakes in the south-east of Aux<\/h3>\n

The Five Lakes Region boasts stunning natural scenery and sparkling waters. It comprises Lake Starnberg, Lake Ammer, Lake W\u00f6rth, Lake Pilsen and Lake Wessling. Here you can go for a walk or a swim, try out various water sports such as surfing, sailing and stand-up paddleboarding, or make use of the extensive cycling and hiking trails. For your next outing, you should also make a note of Andechs Abbey, on the eastern shore of Lake Ammer. As a place of pilgrimage and an economic hub, it offers a chance to experience the Bavarian way of life and Benedictine hospitality. Benedictine monks have lived on Andechs since 1455 and still run one of the last genuine monastery breweries today. Off to the south<\/h3>\n

The proximity to the Allg\u00e4u and the mountains offers plenty of opportunities for day trips and weekend getaways to the south. Hiking enthusiasts, for example, can reach the Gr\u00fcnten in less than two hours. At 1,738 metres, it offers a panoramic view of every corner of the Allg\u00e4u and the Allg\u00e4u mountains. In winter, the area is teeming with skiers, tobogganists and snowshoe hikers. Another destination to the south is the Breitachklamm gorge near Oberstdorf. It is the deepest rock gorge in Central Europe and features vertical and overhanging walls almost a hundred metres high. Combined with the roaring water, it offers a truly unique natural experience! The gorge is particularly impressive in winter. Then you can marvel at mighty ice curtains and frozen waterfalls \u2013 a real winter wonderland. With 64 attractions and thousands of models made from more than 55 million LEGO bricks, this famous theme park in the west of the region is sure to make children\u2019s eyes light up. If you fancy a stroll through an idyllic town centre outside of Aux, you should head to Ulm. Here you\u2019ll find Ulm Minster, which, at 161.53 metres, boasts the tallest church tower in the world.
